B. Jones, M.Ed.
a private and public high school educator for over 25
years, earned her Master of Education degree in Secondary
School Guidance from McDaniel College in 1982. She has
continued post graduate work in Psychology at Immaculata
Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
She has taught high school Spanish and French, and worked
as a high school guidance counselor. While teaching,
Ms. Jones also worked as a counselor for International
Studies, organizing trips abroad for high school students.
is a member of Independent Educational Consultants Association
(IECA), Pennsylvania Association for College Admission
Counseling, Higher Education Consultants Association,
and the National Association of College Admission Counseling.
In 2005, Ms. Jones graduated from IECA's Practices and
Principles Training Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
IECA requires its members to abide by a strict set of
ethical guidelines that govern the actions of consultants
when working with students and their families, colleges
and high schools.
In the community,
Ms. Jones is an active volunteer and board member of
the College Bound Program for members of San Juan Bautista.
is a seasoned writing and public relations professional
who has worked in newspaper and magazine publishing,
at a university news bureau, and as a freelance writer
stint as a sports reporter and features writer for a
small Pennsylvania newspaper in 1978, she moved on to
public relations work in higher education. She spent
nearly seven years in Philadelphia as a writer in Temple
University's news bureau before moving into research
and writing at Rodale Press. She worked on the staff
of Prevention and Runner's World.
For the past
20 years she's been freelancing, and her projects range
from grant writing to creating publications for public
a blogger and maintains two blogs that focus on books

and vintage food and recipes (http://oldfoodcooking.wordpress.com).
Since 2010, she devotes much of her late summer and
fall to reading, researching and critiquing college
